I Did It Myself: A Thanksgiving Sermon

As a few of you may know, November marks the beginning of rabbit hunting season, a time that has always been special in the life of my family. I was thinking about this the other day, and my mind went back to my first real rabbit hunt. It was the day after Christmas when I was seven or eight, and I was all set to use my new Christmas gift to make the big kill, a brand new Daisy BB Gun. Continued

Impending Doom

Well, this has been exam week at Saint James.  We are on the trimester system at Saint James, which means that exams fall three times a year, and when they do, everything else stops-there’s no school dress, no after school sports, classes end on Monday.  Continued

Beyond the Red Door: A Walk in the Cemetery

One crisp fall day recently, I took a walk through the rows of stones up in Mountain View Cemetery.  The colors of the changing leaves on the surrounding hills offered a view as magnificent as the name would suggest.  I knew quite a few of the family names on the stones, the same ones as the kind people I have gotten to know here over the past few months.
