Profile of a Disciple

A few months ago, I joined the over 80 million people worldwide who use the website Facebook.  I had resisted this for some time, being a bit anti-technology in the deepest recesses of the heart. Continued

Suffering with Hope

“We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”  Romans 5:3-4

As many of you know, my house is built into a hillside. Most of the back wall of my house is bedrock of the hill in the backyard, and behind my kitchen is a little room showing just how those nineteenth century builders anchored a little log house into what they could not dig away.  Continued

Midsummer Celebration on June 21

Saint Paul’s will hold a Midsummer Celebration marking the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist on Saturday evening, June 21, beginning at 5:30.  We will begin with the Eucharist, followed by a picnic supper hosted by the ECW and a concert at 6:15 by the New Horizons Band in the Churchyard.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket for the concert.  We are hoping for many visitors from the community, so invite your friends.  The concert and picnic will be cancelled if there is inclement weather.  Continued

Tear Down This Wall

Beyond the Red Door: Mike Kretzer, Job Well Done

He generally shuns the spotlight, but this year he led the Memorial Day parade in his green and black squad car.  Many of us cheered him as he rode down the street, lights flashing.  We were saluting Mike Kretzer for his many years of service as a state policeman, truly a job well done. Continued
